Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
NUS Hosting (“we”, “us”), a Northern Unified Solutions brand based in North Bay, Ontario, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- When you contact us or request a quote: your name, business name, email, phone number, website and the details you send us.
- When you become a customer: billing contact details, the services you use, invoices and payment records, and what's needed to register domains in your name (domain registries require an owner's name and contact details).
- When you use our services: the website files, databases and email you store with us, and technical logs (like IP addresses and access times) that our servers keep for security and troubleshooting.
- When you visit this website: standard server logs. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and prepare quotes.
- To provide, support, bill for and secure the services you buy.
- To register and renew your domains.
- To tell you about things that affect your service, like maintenance or renewals.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run your services, and only what they need:
- Domain registries and our domain/email provider (to register domains and host email).
- Our data centre and server providers (your hosted data is stored in Toronto, Canada).
- Payment processors, if you pay online.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you view our pages.
How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (SSL), keep our servers updated, limit who can access customer data, and keep backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept as long as needed to follow up, then deleted. Customer and billing records are kept while you're a customer and afterwards as long as tax law requires. When you cancel a service, your hosted data is deleted after a short grace period.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent (which may mean we can no longer provide a service). Contact us at support@nushosting.ca or 249-358-9966.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
